App Store

Store charts and collections

The VeraGen App Store's home page shows three charts and a few collections. The store is not open yet; this is how they will work when it opens.

The charts

Most popularThe apps the most people are using. Each person counts once, and only once they have kept the app for at least a day, so getting an app and removing it straight away does not count. Ratings move an app up or down a little; an app with only a few ratings is treated close to average.
Trending this weekThe apps whose number of new users grew most compared with the week before, with the growth shown as a percentage. An app needs at least 5 new users this week to appear, so a jump from 1 to 2 does not count as doubling.
NewApps first listed in the store in the last 14 days, newest first.

Every chart can be narrowed to one category or age rating. Charts are worked out again every hour.

Collections

Collections are lists of apps chosen by people at VeraGen, such as apps made for small farms. Up to 6 appear on the home page, each showing its first 8 apps; open a collection to see all of its apps. Creators cannot ask to be added, and an app stays in a collection only while it is listed in the store.

What can never change a chart

Nobody can pay to appear in a chart or a collection, or to move up in one. Charts count people using apps, never money spent. While a serious report about an app (child safety, a scam or malware) is being looked at, the app is left out of every chart and collection; it comes back if the report is closed without action.
